Kent have to offer.
EAST SUSSEX

There are walkers and there are walkers, separated by a sliding
scale from long distance hiker to once round the park dog walker.
It’s the same with cyclists and horse-riders. The ‘committed enthusiast’
is only distinguishable from the ‘keen but once in a blue moon amateur’
when they venture into the great outdoors.
We are very happy to accommodate walkers at our bed and breakfast
accommodation located in East Sussex.
If you’re with a mixed ability family or group of friends a little
planning ensures maximum walking enjoyment. Following a marked route?
You’ll see which paths are tougher, longer and steeper so you can seek
or avoid them. Take responsibility for scheduling pit stops at the many
wonderful Sussex pubs and cafes en route.

Open your eyes to the sights, sounds and smells of a woodland trail,
a country lane shaded by overhanging trees, the movement of shingle on
the beach. Challenge yourself with part of, or all of, the South Downs
Way, the High Weald Landscape Trail, the Wey-South Path, the 1066
Country walk or the Cuckoo Trail.
There are hundreds of walking, cycling and horse-riding routes
available to explore across Sussex.
From the coast to the countryside, seaside resorts to
historic towns and picture-perfect villages, Sussex is chock-full of
things to do and see

On the coast, sample the enduring charms of the classic English
seaside, hunt out secluded bays and unspoilt sand dunes, and visit
lively ports and marinas.
Get out and about in the countryside, walking on the South Downs,
through bluebell woods and ancient royal forests, or be inspired by
exotic plantings and old-fashioned roses in the glorious gardens of the
Sussex Weald. Look out for birds and other wildlife in the nature
reserves and country parks dotting the county. For a fun day out for
all the family why not visit Earnley Butterflies and Gardens near
Chichester, you will experience 3 attractions in 1!
Visit places where history was made: the site of the Battle of
Hastings, fairytale, and Newhaven Fort. Historic houses include
magnificent mansions and arts & crafts showpieces, Elizabethan manors
and Modernist icons, and the homes of famous writers including Rudyard
Kipling and Virginia Woolf.
And if a spot of retail therapy is needed, Sussex offers everything
from top department stores and all your favourite chains to the quirky,
unusual and one-off shops that make shopping such a pleasure here.

Sussex has long been a magnet for artists of all kinds, and the arts
play a major role in life here, with dozens of small galleries and
artist’s studios all over the county. Top notch galleries include
Pallant House, which showcases the best collection of 20th century art
outside the capital, while Eastbourne’s Towner Art Gallery re-opens in
Spring 2008 in a purpose-built, £8.5m modern building.
