Over the years we have had many kind letters of appreciation from our guests, for which we have been truly grateful.  These letters we have kept, while resisting the normal practice of publishing them. However, so impressed were we with the following testimonial that we thought you might enjoy reading it and hope that it inspires you to visit Rye and enjoy the relaxed hospitality at the Windmill.

 Dear Windmill People,

Now we are back in South Africa, we are buoyed by the memories of our wonderful holiday in the UK, three days of which were spent at the windmill in Rye.

The breakfasts were superb, our room a delight and the location so convenient for all our walks on the common near the river, and into Rye itself.

We had the most wonderful sunshine all the time we were there, and enjoyed all the little shops, pubs and restaurants there-bringing home tons of souvenirs and presents. As far as birding goes, we braved the wind and spotted the European Oystercatchers, and were fascinated by the whole history of the Cinque Port Town and the Land Gate. The Rye Experience is one that is not to be missed. Thank you for your unobtrusive but caring hospitality. We hope that the new rooms upstairs are put to full use and that maybe, one day in the future, we will be able to return.
